Designed by OPEN Architecture, Shede Culture Museum is located in the East Garden of Shede distillery in Shehong, Sichuan, and was topped out in January 2026. On the misty shore of River Fu, where mountains meander, three island-like architectural volumes emerge from a vast circular pond. The three architectural volumes—the Bronze Box, the Earth Box, and the Glass Box—are crafted with materials associated with the art of spirit-making, paying deep homage to the dynamic relationship between architecture, local ecology, craftsmanship, and tradition.

OPEN Architecture’s founding partners Li Hu and Huang Wenjing have been appointed Howard A. Friedman Visiting Professors in the Practice of Architecture at the University of California, Berkeley. It is another major visiting professorship for them since 2023's appointment of Kenzo Tange Design Critics in Architecture at Harvard Graduate School of Design.

OPEN Architecture unveils its collaboration with Powerhouse Parramatta in Sydney, Australia, on the curatorial conception and exhibition design for Task Eternal, the landmark exhibition which will serve as the opening spectacle for the highly anticipated launch of Powerhouse Parramatta in late 2026. Powerhouse Parramatta, located in Sydney, will be the latest museum affiliated with Powerhouse, Australia’s largest museum group. Task Eternal will be staged in Powerhouse Parramatta’s largest exhibition space, PS1, and will run for two to three years.
