Sun Tower Awarded with 2025 Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) Award of Excellence,
At the 2025 Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) Conference, held from October 6 to 9 in Toronto, OPEN Architecture’s Sun Tower was honored with a 2025 Award of Excellence in the “Best Tall Building Under 100 Meters” category.
The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH), established in 1969 and headquartered in Chicago, is a leading international authority dedicated to the study and advancement of tall buildings and sustainable urban environments. Its areas of focus include the conceptualization, design, construction, and operation of high-rise structures and the cities of the future. CTBUH’s international awards recognize outstanding projects, practices, and individuals that have made significant contributions to the evolution of tall buildings and urban design, promoting sustainable development and enhancing human well-being on the highest and broadest levels.

Designed by OPEN Architecture, Sun Tower is an oceanfront public cultural facility in Yantai Yeda Development Zone, featuring outdoor theater, digital exhibition spaces, library, café and bar.
