LI Hu, Principal

Li Hu received B. Arch. from Tsinghua University in Beijing in 1996 and M. Arch. from Rice University in Houston in 1998. He joined Steven Holl Architects(SHA) in 2000 and became a partner in 2005. From 2006-2010, he lead SHA’s Beijing office and was responsible for some of the firm’s most ambitious and successful projects including Linked-Hybrid, Vanke Center, Naijing Museum for Architecture, and Chengdu Raffles City.
From 2011, Li Hu start to focus on the independent work of OPEN Architecture. In addition to practice, he is also the director of Columbia University GSAPP’s Studio-X Beijing, a global network of advanced research laboratories. Li Hu teaches at Columbia University and Hong Kong University as visiting professor. He was the co-founder and editor of architectural journal 32:Beijing /New York in 2002, together with Steven Holl and Yungho Chang.

HUANG Wenjing, Principal

Huang Wenjing received B. Arch. from Tsinghua University in Beijing in 1996, and M. Arch. from Princeton University in 1999. She worked for 6 years in New York based Pei Cobb Freed and Partners Architects(formerly I.M. Pei Architects)where she was a senior designer and an associate. She is a licensed architect in the New York State and a member of AIA. Huang co-founded O.P.E.N. Architecture Studio in New York City with Li Hu. O.P.E.N. has since established Beijing office in 2006, and a project office in New Delhi India. Besides practice, Huang is also a visiting assistant professor at the University of Hong Kong and Tsinghua University; Huang was also a senior editor for World Architecture Magazine;
